Michael Owen has named the three Premier League strikers that Mikel Arteta could sign for Arsenal.

Arteta has been rotating his forward options this season, with Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard all leading the line at various times. However, rumours have been doing the rounds ever since the January transfer window that the Gunners need to add a recognised No.9 to their squad

Owen has suggested that Arteta should consider making moves for certain players when the transfer window reopens. Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins is one such player on Owen's radar, especially after his goal-scoring display in Villa's recent 2-0 win over Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has consistently improved and Owen sees him as a good fit for the North London side, reports the Mirror. Owen also believes Newcastle United star Alexander Isak and Brentford striker Ivan Toney could be valuable additions to the Arsenal squad.

"He [Watkins] is a player who is getting better and better year on year," Owen told Premier League Productions. "He's the type of player who could go into the Arsenal team, whether or not they can buy him is another thing.

"There are a lot of players in the Premier League at the moment who would probably be an upgrade on what Arsenal have right now. You're looking at [Alexander] Isak up at Newcastle, maybe Ivan Toney at Brentford and Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa."

Watkins is enjoying the best goalscoring season of the trio, bagging 19 in the Premier League, none of which have been penalties. Meanwhile, Isak has scored 17 goals in the Premier League this season for Newcastle after getting a brace against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Toney, who only returned from his eight-month ban in January, has managed four strikes for the Bees.
