With the summer transfer window getting ever closer, there’s a good chance that Arsenal will be busy in the market.

The Gunners have enjoyed a solid season, competing for the Premier League title and reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

However, there’s still work to be done. Arsenal aren’t quite the finished product just yet, but they’re not far off.

Edu and Mikel Arteta will be eager to apply the finishing touches to their squad and really go for glory next season.

Now, BBC Sport has published an update regarding an Arsenal target who has been described as “one of the best young players in the Premier League”.

The player in question is Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who has really gone from strength to strength in recent years.

Back in January, talkSPORT spoke of how Manchester United’s ‘hopes of a free run at a summer move’ for Olise had been scuppered by interest in the likes of Arsenal.

As well as the Gunners and the Red Devils, the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea are also said to be in pursuit of the 22-year-old Frenchman.

What has been reported about Arsenal target Michael Olise?

According to BBC Sport, Palace will only entertain bids for Olise and Eberechi Eze starting at £60million per player.

The Eagles are in a strong position, with both players signing long-term deals this season and the club in no need to sell.

However, Palace acknowledge that there will be interest in Olise and Eze, with bids ‘highly likely’ to come this summer.

With that in mind, the south Londoners have reportedly outlined their starting prices for both players.

What have pundits said about Arsenal target Michael Olise?

We’ve all seen what Olise can do in the Premier League, and he continues to win plaudits from pundits.

For instance, Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison said on Sky Sports in 2022: “This kid’s got it all… he’s a tremendous talent.

“He’s got everything… him going forward, he’s one of the outstanding young players in the Premier League.”

More recently, Danny Murphy said on BBC Sport, as per the above article: “He is a Champions League player.

“I’m sorry, Palace fans. He will not be there next season. This is an unbelievable talent.

“There are going to be so many clubs after him because he can do the lot. A wonderful, wonderful player.”
