Arsenal are making Manchester City lives easier with Pep Guardiola convinced they won’t drop any more points in the title race.

Guardiola has been one of Mikel Arteta’s biggest champions for years, having brought him in as City assistant in 2016 before seeing him tempted to take the top job at the Emirates in 2020. Arsenal led City for much of last season and will take the title race into the final week of the current campaign in a race that could see the winners break the 90-point barrier.

City have had plenty of time to watch Arsenal recently, watching the North London derby on their coach to Nottingham Forest last week before seeing their nerveless win over Bournemouth on Saturday. As much as the results are forcing City to keep their level, Guardiola is even more convinced the performances that Arsenal are producing mean the prospect of them dropping points isn't worth considering.

"If we play Fulham after or before we have to win and Arsenal knows they have to win. And not just the starting XI - the staff, the players, the fans, everyone knows you cannot make one little mistake because you will lose the Premier League," said Guardiola.

"They know it we know it, what happened with Liverpool in the past. Today we arrived here (vs Wolves) and the players knew that if we don’t win, ciao, ciao, bye-bye, next season we see each other [again]. It’s not complicated.

"It doesn’t matter if it's before or after. Hopefully we win against Fulham, they will play in Old Trafford, but United play for Europa League but I said if we don’t win today we won't be champion, so when that happens it’s easier [to understand] because you see the level of consistency since the winter break, the way they are playing.

"It’s not the fact that they are winning, it’s the way they play, so you smell that they are not going to lose in the games they have left. They are not going to."
