‘The timing is nuts…’ Rio Ferdinand reacts to what he’s hearing about Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka now

Bukayo Saka is succeeding both on and off the pitch for Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is a key player for club and country and he has also introduced his own Peri-Peri sauce.

The Arsenal superstar has launched his own Nando’s hot sauce and has further boosted his popularity off the pitch.

On the field of play, and going by the most recent result, it’s not going as well as Bukayo Saka or his team would like.

Mikel Arteta watched his team suffer a deserved 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa and seriously dent their chances in the Premier League title race.

Saka started that game against Villa, but he was unable to contribute to the delight of Manchester City supporters.

All of this has resulted in rivals aiming obvious digs at the title-chasers after their collapse last season.

Rio Ferdinand was discussing Arsenal’s defeat from the weekend on his FIVE YouTube channel.

Talk turned to Arsenal ‘bottling it’, with Manchester United fan Stephen Howson claiming that ‘Saka is going out there and getting his name on bottles whilst Arsenal are bottling it’.

But Ferdinand was quick to defend that suggestion even though he admitted, ‘the timing is nuts’.

Bukayo Saka’s Peri-Peri sauce

Man United fan and co-host Stephen Howson: “I want to know why Saka is going out there and getting his name on bottles (re Peri-Peri sauce) as you are bottling things.”

Rio Ferdinand: “Wow, that’s too much. I think that’s too much. Endorsements and that, it’s cool. But you are drawing the bottle and the bottling, the timing is nuts, I get that. Have you tasted the sauce?”

Arsenal reaction

Starting against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night and then against Wolves at the weekend, this is Arsenal’s time to react.

Previously, Ferdinand has questioned if Saka is a ‘world-class’ player, but his performance at the weekend doesn’t exactly help matters.

But this is Saka’s chance to answer those critics and produce the best performances of his career this week.

If he does that, then Arsenal will be in the semi-final of the Champions League and still in the title race.
