Mikel Arteta has just done something that Arsene Wenger never managed as Arsenal manager

Arsenal's victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur has seen them achieve a feat not even Arsene Wenge could during his spell at the club.

The Gunners continued their march towards a first Premier League title since 2004 with a 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Spurs.

A Pierre-Emile Højbjerg own goal was doubled by Bukayo Saka before Kai Havertz gave Mikel Arteta's side a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.

Ange Postecoglou's men got back into it after a David Raya howler allowed Cristian Romero to score before Heung-min Son converted a penalty which saw a nervy end to the game.

Arsenal managed to hold on to claim bragging rights in North London and achieve a feat the club couldn't even manage under legendary boss Wenger.

For the first time in 36 years, Arsenal have managed back-to-back away wins in the derby, as per Squawka.

The Gunners were managed by George Graham at the time and the score was an identical 3-2 victory for the visitors.

Arsenal have now extended their gap at the top of the table, however, the race for the title is still ultimately out of their control as defending champions Manchester City have a game in hand.

Arteta's men lost out to Pep Guardiola's City last season and they'll be praying the same doesn't happen again.

They have just three fixtures left, two home games against Bournemouth and Everton who have little to play for, and a huge match away to Manchester United.

City still face a tough trip to Spurs as well, a game that could ultimately decide where the title ends up.

After crashing out of the Champions League this is the only chance Arsenal have to win silverware this season.

Arteta has built a very strong side over the past few years, but so far they have just fallen short.
