Jurgen Klopp fell in love fast after meeting and marrying his wife Ulla within the same year.

The German football manager has been married twice, with both of his marriages lasting many years.

His only son, Marc, also followed in his footsteps.

Who is Jurgen’s first wife?

Jurgen was with his first wife Sabine from 1980 until 2001, when they decided to go their separate ways after 21 years of marriage.

The reason for their divorce was cited as “irreconcilable differences” during legal proceedings.

They welcomed their son, Marc, in 1988. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a professional soccer player.

He first began playing for his first club FSV Frankfurt under-19s in 2007, before signing with Karbener SV in 2009. He remained there until 2010, before joining SV Damstad 98.

The footballer moved to Borussia Dortmund II in 2012 until he took a break from the sport in 2013.

He eventually returned to the sport two years later and joined Berzirksliga. However, he announced his retirement later that same year.

Since then, he has turned his attention to business and started a few companies of his own.

He formed Onside Sports, an agency for off-season activities for professional football clubs in the European market, in 2017.

Who is Ulla Sandrock?

Jurgen first met Ulla Sandrock at a pub during a Munich Oktoberfest celebration in 2005, where she was working as a bar waitress.

The couple tied the knot on 5 December 2005.

Ulla is a social worker and a children's writer. Her first book 'Tom and the Magic Football' was published in 2008. It was about an 11-year-old boy and a magic football. A sequel to the book came out in 2010.

Ulla also used to work as a teacher in Kenya, where she worked with local children. She volunteered there three years before returning to Germany in 2005.

She has a son named Dennis from a previous marriage.

Ulla is known as ‘The First Lady of Bundesliga’ due to all her charitable actions and her husband’s football manager job.

In April 2020, she gave out £1,000 food vouchers to supermarket staff at a Waitrose branch in Formby, Merseyside, England.
