‘See Us Struggling To Make 4 Signings’ ‘Better Be False’ United Fans React As Report Reveals Transfer Budget

Manchester United may have as little as £100m to spend on signings this summer, according to ESPN.

The restrictions placed on the club due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) mean that INEOS could be limited in what they can do to improve the first-team squad in their first transfer window.

Fans on X are hoping that the report is inaccurate so the Red Devils do have more room to manoeuvre when it comes to reshaping the team over the summer:

Selling unwanted players could be crucial

While a £100m net spend doesn’t sound like a lot, there is potential for United to splash out more if the can raise funds through player sales.

Although Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial may be leaving on free transfers, others (including Antony, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka) could be offloaded for significant fees if the right buyer can be found.

Who could United sign with their budget?

As some supporters have pointed out, PSR could hamper a comprehensive squad rebuild, limiting the Manchester club to recruiting two or three players.

The likes of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise have once again been heavily linked with transfers to Old Trafford in recent days, but they could cost a combined £130m.
