Less than a year ago, the 26-year-old departed from the Glamour Boys to join Romanian giants.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After seven seasons with Chiefs where he rose through their Youth Development Academy, Ngezana bid farewell to the club in pursuit of new opportunities. Despite signing a three-year deal with the option for a two-year extension back in March 2021, he left after just two years.
Since joining FCSB at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Ngezana has acclimated to the club and has become an integral part of the squad. With 27 league appearances under his belt, he has also contributed an assist.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
In addition to securing consistent playing time, Ngezana finds himself on the verge of potentially clinching his maiden league title. FCSB ended the regular Romanian Superliga season with 64 points, positioning themselves in a championship battle alongside CFR Cluj, University of Craiova, Farul Constanța, Rapid Bucuresti, and Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe.
With an impressive record of four consecutive victories in the playoffs, they currently lead the table. Merely two more wins would secure them the league championship and a coveted spot in the Uefa Champions League for the upcoming season.
WHAT NGEZANA SAID?
In the midst of his success in Romania, Ngezana recently shared updates on his Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “I can see clearly now.”
In the comments section, a fan chimed in, stating, “Chiefs was the problem 😂.”
Ngezana concluded, saying, “Not Chiefs, Siya was a problem.”
WHAT NEXT FOR NGEZANA?
As Ngezana took the time to engage with fans in South Africa, his focus will shift to FCSB’s next championship playoff match against Rapid Bucuresti on Saturday, April 20th.
This will be followed by their clash with Sepsi on Wednesday, April 24th.
