Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United is becoming the subject of increased speculation.

Rashford is enduring a difficult season in front of goal for United, with just eight goals in 40 appearances in all competitions. As a result, the 26-year-old has been criticised in sections of the media and supporters for his performances and goal-scoring output.

In the early hours of Friday morning, Rashford took to social media to hit back at the "abuse" he has received this season. The United academy graduate has started just one Premier League match for United since February 24 and responded to the criticism that has gone his way.

"I appreciate your support!" wrote Rashford in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to a tweet defending him. "It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough".

It was only last summer that Rashford had committed his long-term future to United by signing a new contract. His original deal was set to expire at the end of the current season, and the extension saw him contracted at Old Trafford until 2028.

The new deal sees Rashford earn £325,000 per week to be among the highest earners at United. Rashford put pen to paper on the deal after scoring a career-best 30 goals for the Reds last season in all competitions.

Almost 12 months on and there is increased speculation that Rashford's long-term future may not be at Old Trafford. There have been no direct rumours linking Rashford with any specific club, but there have been reports suggesting that he could be on the move in the summer.

United are currently in a battle to climb the Premier League table and secure European qualification. Rashford was not involved in the midweek win over Sheffield United due to a suspected injury, and he was met with boos from sections of supporters inside Wembley Stadium as he was substituted in last weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.
