Arsenal player ratings - 'Unforgettable' 10/10 and 'world class' 9 in stupendous Chelsea romp

Arsenal stormed to a memorable 5-0 victory against Chelsea to boost their title challenge hopes.

Arsenal went three points clear at the top of the Premier League table as they stormed to victory against Chelsea to record a hugely impressive 5-0 win.

The Gunners are known for their lightning-quick starts at the Emirates Stadium and that was plain for all to see on Tuesday night with Mikel Arteta's men taking the lead after just four minutes. An inspired Declan Rice run eventually saw Leandro Trossard slotted through to power the ball past Djordje Petrovic in the Chelsea goal.

The visitors weren't all too deterred by early Arsenal dominance and had their own moments of danger. Nicolas Jackson was a handful for William Saliba to deal with and saw a show cannon of Gabriel and onto the Arsenal post in the opening half hour.

End-to-end action, it was still Arsenal who looked more likely to score again with flicks and tricks galore around the Chelsea penalty box. Kai Havertz hesitated to waste a glorious opportunity and Rice saw a shot from distance sail just over the bar.

Tensions flared shortly before the break with a flurry of yellow cards, including one to a vocal Mikel Arteta, teeing up what looked sure to be a feisty second half.

The high-tempo affair started where it was left with Rice and Odegaard controlling the midfield and working good Arsenal opportunities. Chelsea were slow out the blocks and gave Ben White far too much space from a corner as he poked home coolly.

The floodgates opened after that as Pochettino's men capitalised. Having wasted a number of easier chances, Havertz bagged a brace with two superb finishes as Arsenal turned the game into a romp as White saw a mishit cross loop over Petrovic.

Here's how the Arsenal players rated on a memorable night under the lights in north London.

1 . David Raya - 8 Had to stay alert, especially in the first half, as Chelsea did carve some opportunities. Solid stuff.
2 . Takehiro Tomiyasu - 8 Really sound performance at full-back. Not posed too much trouble by Madueke and some nice work going forward.
3 . Gabriel - 8 Resolute in his defensive work. He sets the atmosphere in the Emirates Stadium so often.
4 . William Saliba - 7 Did struggle with the pace of Nicolas Jackson at times as Chelsea grew in confidence in the first half.
