TBR Football understands West Ham United have held talks with Corinthians over teenage ace Wesley.

The 19-year-old can operate anywhere down the left and West Ham are understood to see him as a wing-back primarily.

TBR understands that Hammers technical director Tim Steidten has instigated talks through his South American team – featuring former Brazilian international Naldo.

West Ham are in the market for a new left-back/wing-back with Aaron Creswell expected to depart this summer. Wesley has now emerged as an option and has been watched by The Hammers since last summer.

West Ham open talks for Wesley with Chelsea keen

Sources have told TBR that West Ham are not alone in their admiration of Wesley. Chelsea have been keeping close tabs on Wesley since last summer, as they held talks with Corinthians about Gabriel Moscardo and they also enquired about Wesley, and they remain keen.

TBR has understands that Manchester United have also watched Wesley this year.

Spanish outfit Real Betis, who look increasingly likely to lose Juan Miranda – coincidently someone also on the radar of West Ham and Chelsea – have also shown an interest in Wesley.

The Hammers look set for a busy summer as they weigh up the future of David Moyes.

With the Scotsman’s contract set to expire this summer, TBR confirmed on Wednesday that Steidten would love to bring Thomas Tuchel to the London Stadium.

West Ham have also held talks with Ruben Amorim over a switch to East London but have not offered the Sporting CP boss the manager’s role.

Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge also remains unclear, with the club’s hierarchy doing their due diligence on a potential replacement for the Argentine.

Amorim is admired by co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly after the 39-year-old was also under consideration last summer.

Wesley’s stats for Corinthians

Wesley has mainly operated as a left-sided midfielder for Corinthians but the youngster has impressed in Brazil.

The Brazilian has netted twice and provided one assist in 19 appearances this term.

In 54 first-team games for the Brazilian outfit, Wesley has had a hand in seven goals from the left flank.
