Marcus Rashford has hit out at the abuse he has suffered from Manchester United fans this season, insisting ‘enough is enough’ in a late-night post on social media.

After notching up 30 goals in all competitions last season, Rashford has struggled to hit the same heights for United this season, scoring just eight goals so far this season.

His bad form has been compounded by the team’s struggles, with Erik ten Hag’s side facing a battle to finish inside the top six after a topsy-turvy season.

The 26-year-old was substituted late on during last week’s dramatic FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City, prompting boos from some United supporters.

The Red Devils survived a late scare to progress on penalties, with Rashford then missing out on their midweek win against Sheffield United with injury.

The England international has been the target of much criticism on social media throughout the season and, in a post in the early hours of Friday morning, responded to a fan who suggested his treatment has been both ‘disgusting’ and ‘cruel’.

‘I appreciate your support! Rashford said on X, formerly Twitter. ‘It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough.’

Rashford received a wave of criticism in January when he was fined £650,000 – the equivalent of two weeks’ wages –  after he was caught partying in Belfast which subsequently saw him miss the FA Cup tie against Newport County.

Earlier on in the season, he was also called out after he was pictured attending a pre-planned birthday party in a nightclub following United’s heavy 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The forward has a contract at the club until 2028 after signing a lucrative extension at the end of last season.

Recent reports have suggested that INEOS may consider letting go of the academy graduate, with Paris Saint-Germain a club often linked with the Englishman.

However, a hefty fee would be required given Rashford’s lengthy contract, with the United star said to prefer staying at his boyhood club for now.
