Jurgen Klopp has now answered whether he thinks Manchester City will lose some games in the Premier League until the end of the season.

Liverpool suffered yet another blow in their quest to win the title by drawing 2-2 to West Ham United on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s men are now a point above the Reds, with two games left in hand.

In order to capitalise on Liverpool’s latest setback, when Manchester City face Nottingham Forest on Sunday, they would be looking to get three points on the board.

However, that would be easier said than done for City, who drew 1-1 at the County Ground last season.

If football was played on paper, the Sky Blues would cruise past Forest.

Klopp reveals whether he thinks Man City will drop points now

However, it is not and with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side fighting for survival, they will be determined to get a result.

If Forest even manage to get a point against City, they are expected to gain a massive confidence boost from such a result.

As for the treble-winners, they would have their sights set on winning at all costs to keep the pressure on Liverpool and Arsenal.

With five games left to play for City in the league this season, they would dread to leave their title hopes on depending on their rivals to drop points.

Perhaps a few matches earlier, it still would have been acceptable if the Premier League champions had a game to forget against Nottingham Forest or in their subsequent outings against Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham.

But first things first, Guardiola’s side will be aiming to replicate their 2-0 win against Forest at the Etihad Stadium in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

After Liverpool suffered a draw against West Ham, Jurgen Klopp admitted that he does not expect Manchester City to lose a couple of games in the league this season.

“I don’t think about it really. So, I said before, we need to win our games. We didn’t win the game. That doesn’t improve our situation now massively. Do they [Manchester City and Arsenal] look like they will lose two or three games? No, I don’t think so but, honestly, I’m not angry or whatever… I don’t think about it”, he said [via Liverpool’s official website].

“It’s just we have to win football games and let’s see what that means in the end. What do we have now? 75 points? 84 [is] possible and I think it is a good target to try to do that. That is what will be my attitude, my mindset and we will see what that means. It’s a while ago somebody became champion with 84 points I think, long ago. I am sorry, but I don’t have better news for you.”

Manchester City will not have such a mindset

While Jurgen Klopp is entitled to have his opinion on the matter, Manchester City will be aware that it is far from impossible that they lose two or three games.

Would that be likely? In our view, not particularly.

But if the City players have a lax attitude and internally believe such a possibility is beyond the realms of reality, they could set themselves up for an unpleasant surprise.

Instead, the reigning champions of England should be aware that teams could be ready to spoil their potential title party and as a result, doing all they can to win should be the club’s priority.
