Manager set for London meeting with David Sullivan as West Ham job beckons

One manager in particular seems to be primed to be given the West Ham United job in the summer.

Current West Ham manager David Moyes is quite clearly finished at the London Stadium, although the narrative that a decision will not be made on his future until the end of the season is still being peddled.

The Hammers have been in free fall since the turn of the year, and have won just four out of our last 21 games in all competitions.

It’s a real shame because we were in such a strong position heading into the second half of the season. Moyes’s turgid system and archaic footballing philosophy has undoubtedly held us back.

However, the only positive is that we could now be on the verge of a prosperous and exciting new era.

In order for the future to be bright though, David Sullivan has to ensure that he makes the right appointment.

Unfortunately for us, it seems like the Hammers owner could be set to go down the wrong path…

The Hammers are very much at a crossroads right now. Make the right managerial appointment, and we could be on to great things.

However, make a backwards step, or even a sideways one, and it could be a long and challenging road ahead for us.

As annoying as it sounds, it seems like West Ham could be set for the latter…

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition April 25th), Julen Lopetegui is set to meet the West Ham owners in London for talks.

Our interest in him is described as ‘not fake’ and ‘very real’.

The 57-year-old is a very pragmatic coach, and I genuinely don’t see much different between him and Moyes.

He bored fans to tears at Wolves, and left when the going got tough.

If the Spanish manager gets the West Ham job, we could be in for a really tough 2024/25 campaign. I’m just hoping that Sullivan goes for Paulo Fonseca instead.
