West Ham United are being linked with a surprise move to sign former Tottenham centre-back Davinson Sanchez this summer.

Ex-Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez is firmly on the West Ham radar ahead of the summer transfer window it seems, as the club look for a new centre-back.

Nayef Aguerd is apparently on his way out of the London Stadium, so an adequate replacement needs to be brought in.

David Moyes is being heavily linked with an exit from West Ham as well, so director of football Tim Steidten will undoubtedly be the man who’s running his eye over potential incomings this summer.

Sanchez, 27, is reportedly someone who’s drawing attention from the Hammers.

However, what fee are we prepared to pay to prise him away from Galatasaray?

The fee West Ham are willing to pay for Davinson Sanchez

The Colombia international proved that he just wasn’t suited to the Premier League, what with his rash decision making and poor positional awareness.

If we were to sign him, I wouldn’t want us spending any more than £5/6 million at the absolute most.

It appears as though that won’t be the case though…

According to a report from Dirilis Postasi, West Ham want to sign the 27-year-old centre-back from Galatasaray this summer.

It is alleged that we are willing to pay £13 million for him this summer, but Galatasaray want at least £17 million.

So it remains to be seen whether the Hammers will be prepared to meet that asking price.

Sky Sports ran a piece on the Colombian back when Spurs signed him, and described him as a really bright talent but someone who plays with ‘excessive aggression’.

I really think West Ham should avoid a move to sign Davinson Sanchez anyway. He was poor for Tottenham, and certainly isn’t good enough to be playing Premier League football at the very highest level.
