Supercomputer predicts Premier League title race outcome after Arsenal vs Chelsea with huge change

Arsenal news as the Gunners are now predicted to win the Premier League after moving three points clear following Chelsea demolition

Arsenal players celebrate
Arsenal's win over Chelsea made them the new supercomputer's favourite for the Premier League title

Arsenal are the new favourites to win the Premier League title after their emphatic 5-0 hammering of Chelsea. The Gunners not only moved three points clear of Liverpool in second, they also massively boosted the goal difference too.

Mikel Arteta's side have now played twice more than Manchester City ahead of Thursday's nights game with Brighton but have opened up a four-point gap over the reigning champions. They are also 12 ahead of Pep Guardiola's men on goal difference following a blistering second-half performance.

Having seen their hopes of a first title in 20 years dented by defeat to Aston Villa just 10 days ago, Arsenal's response to win both games in the league since has renewed optimism. They will now watch on as their rivals face the pressure of playing catch-up.

Liverpool could draw level with victory over Everton on Wednesday night but are still 13 behind on goal difference as well. With just under four weeks left to play of the season, the pendulum has swung again.

Heading into the meeting with Chelsea, BonusCodeBets had Arsenal as outsiders for the title still. However, the manner of their victory at the Emirates Stadium has shifted that significantly.

Arsenal are now predicted to win the title by the Super Computer, the first time in 2024 that this has been the case. The probability model - which estimates the likelihood of each individual result based on league position, form, and betting odds across 1,000 simulations, taking an average - has them down to clinch the title on goal difference.

The predicted table has them down to finish on 85 points - meaning just eight are taken from the next four matches (Tottenham, Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Everton) - but with 59 goal difference. That is only a small increase of three to their current standings.

City are down to also reach 85 points - a tally of 12 from their remaining six games (Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham) with an increase of three to their goal difference too. Liverpool, the model says, will reach 84 points.

That would be seven from their remaining fixtures and another plus three on the goal difference. The Reds face Everton, West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Wolves.
