Arsenal handed Premier League title race boost as Man City vs Wolves decision confirmed

Arsenal have been handed a potential boost in the Premier League title race with Man City

Manchester City host Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday evening after Arsenal's clash at home to Bournemouth.

Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand over Mikel Arteta's team with the title race in their hands. City will win a historic fourth consecutive English top-flight league title if they win their remaining fixtures.

The reigning champions will face Gary O'Neil's Wolves at 5:30pm, having won their last five league matches since March's 0-0 draw against the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium. City beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 last time out.

But their opponents on Saturday have been handed a significant injury boost which may give them a chance of securing a shock result against Arsenal's title rivals. Forward Pedro Neto has returned to first-team training and could feature against City.

The Portugal international has been a key player for Wolves since joining from Lazio in August 2019. Neto has scored three goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions so far this season.

There were fears that he could be out for the season after picking up a hamstring injury against Fulham in March. However, O'Neil has confirmed that the winger could return this weekend against Man City.

"Bellearde, Neto and Santi are all back in full training," O'Neil said ahead of Saturday's game. "They are getting pretty close now and we'll see how best we can use them between now and the end of the season and how many minutes we can get into them.

"Hopefully we can finish the season strongly because we are in a better position fitness-wise. All of them could play a part this weekend, they're all fit and available."

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer and now he could provide his potential new side a major boost in the title race.
