Harry Kane is set to receive a huge bonus payment after meeting a hidden clause in his Bayern Munich contract.

Bayern Munich have endured a difficult season; Thomas Tuchel's side were knocked out of the German cup by third division side Saarbrucken, and surrendered their Bundesliga crown to Bayer Leverkusen after 11 seasons of domestic domination.

The Champions League represents the last opportunity for Bayern to win silverware this term, with Real Madrid standing between them and a final against either Paris Saint-Germain or Borussia Dortmund.

With Harry Kane in the form of his life, Bayern have every chance of going all the way and winning the competition.

Since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a £100 million deal last summer, Kane hasn't stopped scoring.

The England captain has scored 40 goals and 13 assists in 41 games this season, with 33 of those strikes coming in the Bundesliga.

His 31st league goal of the campaign saw him break a 60-year record for the most goals scored by a player in their debut Bundesliga season.

Kane's eye for goal could well make him a his teammates European champions, but if not, it has already earned him a huge bonus payment.

According to BILD, there is a clause in Kane's contract that entitles him to a payment of €250,000 [£218,000] if he provides more than 40 goals and assists across all competitions in a single season.

Kane has already notched 53 goal contributions and he still has at least six matches left to play, potentially seven if Bayern reach the Champions League final.

The other major clause in his contract is the buy-back option Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy revealed after the move.

While Kane will be happy to receive the extra cash, his focus will be on winning a major trophy for the first time in his career.
