Arsenal learn Michael Olise transfer fee as release clause claim clarified to Edu

Latest Arsenal transfer news and gossip as Crystal Palace reportedly set their price tag for Michael Olise who has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners

Crystal Palace have reportedly named their asking price for Michael Olise amid links with Arsenal.

Recent months have seen the Gunners heavily linked with a move for Olise when the summer transfer window opens. The versatile forward has scored seven goals with four assists in 15 appearances for Palace this season, in a campaign that has seen him struggle with injuries.

Olise typically performs on the right wing for Palace, an area of the pitch where Bukayo Saka is the established starter for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta could look to target Olise in an effort to increase the squad depth forward department for next season.

According to BBC Sport, Palace will seek at least £60 million in order to consider parting ways with Olise this summer. It has also been stated that the Eagles have named the same price tag for Eberechi Eze, whose future has also been the subject of intense speculation this season.

It was only last August that Olise signed a new long-term contract with Palace. The agreement came after Chelsea had moved to activate the player's release clause thought to be in the region of £35 million, before he committed his future to Selhurst Park.

The report claims that Olise's new contract does not contain a release clause. As a result, if Arsenal do have a genuine interest in signing the forward they would need to meet Palace's asking price or negotiate a lower fee.

However, a report in 90min has claimed that Olise may have a different preference of which club to join this summer. The article states that Olise would be keen to sign for Manchester United if the Old Trafford club.

It has been stated, though, that Chelsea are no longer in the running to sign Olise after their attempt to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge last summer.
