Tottenham Hotspur are now set to see the father of one of their targets fly in to Europe to evaluate an offer which has landed for his son.

A busy summer could be ahead for Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy with the club looking set to play some form of European football next season.

Whether that will be Champions League or Europa League is yet to be confirmed with six games still to be played.

However, both competitions would certainly hold their pros and cons for the Lilywhites next season.

Significant arrivals have already been made at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the arrival of Postecoglou.

But there remains the sense that there is still plenty of work needing to be done still in the upcoming summer window.

One area which is causing Tottenham with a bit of a headache at the moment is up front with Richarlison‘s injury issues continuing.

Tottenham target has now received offer ahead of the summer window

With a new striker seemingly one of the priorities for Tottenham going into the summer market, a number of players have already been linked.

Ivan Toney is a name who is believed to be a potential target for Tottenham over the coming months as he’s expected to depart Brentford.

It has even been claimed the 28-year-old England international could be made available for as little as £30m this summer.

However, there is another name from outside of the Premier League who Tottenham are said to be keen on in Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez.

The Mexican striker is said to be valued in the region of £60m this summer after enjoying a prolific season in Eredivisie.

And now Vamos Azul, Feyenoord have now received an approach from an unnamed Premier League club with Arsenal and Tottenham’s interest mentioned.

The approach has now seen Gimenez’s father fly into Europe to evaluate the offer with a summer move now looking likely for the 23-year-old.

How Santiago Gimenez’s stats compare to previous Eredivisie strikers who joined the Premier League

Signing striker, in particular, from the Eredivisie has proven to be a real mixed bag for Premier League clubs.

Over the years, there have been some real success stories with the likes of Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie.

However, there have also been some shockers with Tottenham suffering from the signing of Vincent Janssen.

Here is how the Mexican tallies up in comparison to some previous Eredivisie imports.

Player Final Eredivisie season goals Total Premier League goals
Santiago Gimenez 21 (so far) /
Robin van Persie 6 144
Luis Suarez 7 69
Ruud van Nistelrooy 29 95
Vincent Janssen 27 2

There is no doubt Gimenez has enjoyed an excellent season in the Dutch top flight, but it is undoubtedly a risk for Tottenham to take given their previous experiences.
