Gabriel Jesus is determined to stay at Arsenal and battle for his place in Mikel Arteta's squad, despite speculation that the Brazilian star could leave the club this summer.

Jesus joined the Gunners two years ago but has struggled to secure a regular starting spot during Arsenal's title chase. When he signed in a £45million deal in July 2022, Jesus was seen as one of the final pieces in Arteta's puzzle.

He played a crucial role for the North London side in his first season, contributing to 18 goals during the 2022/23 campaign. However, his performances have not been as impressive this season due to injuries.

Since recovering from a knee injury in February, the striker has not yet completed a full 90-minute match in the Premier League. Furthermore, out of Arsenal's 10 league games during that period, the former Manchester City player has only started four, with Kai Havertz becoming Arteta's preferred choice for the attacking line.

This has led to rumours that Arsenal might consider selling Jesus this summer due to his injury problems. However, The Sun (via the Express) has reported that Jesus is happy and is ready to fight for his place in the team.

Jesus is reportedly enjoying his stint at Arsenal, both on and off the pitch, and remains confident about reclaiming his spot in the starting line-up. Furthermore, manager Arteta still sees Jesus as a crucial part of his squad, given his Premier League title-winning experience, which sets him apart from some of Arsenal's younger talents.

However, this may offer little comfort to Jesus if his playing time doesn't increase, and there's a possibility he could slide further down the hierarchy. The Gunners are planning to pursue a new striker when the summer transfer window opens.

While scouting for targets continues across Europe, names like Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, have been suggested as potential recruits. If the 13-time English champions succeed in signing a striker, Jesus might see his pitch time reduced even more.

This weekend, Jesus will be aiming to make an impact as Arsenal continue their title chase at home against Bournemouth. Arteta's team are currently leading the pack, one point ahead of defending champions City, who have a game in hand.
