£52m Chelsea player could now return from injury next month, he hasn’t played since February

Reports have claimed that Chelsea could be approaching his individual return from injury in the coming weeks.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues can expect one of their key players to make his comeback next month, before the season comes to an end.

Mauricio Pochettino has very rarely had a full squad to choose from since taking over at the club this season, and this has almost certainly had an impact on what they have been able to do on the pitch.

A busy and expensive transfer window has not brought the results many will have expected off the back of it, and there have no doubt been questions left at the door of the manager as a result.

One key player who the Blues have been missing for the majority of the season is Christopher Nkunku, with him brought in with the expectation that he would completely turn things around in attack at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the fact that he has been amongst the goals when fit, this amount of time has not been enough for him to make a real impression on his new supporters.

He was last seen off the bench in the EFL Cup final, where the Blues were beaten in extra time by Liverpool.

However, it looks as if we are not far away from saying the France international back amongst the squad.

The latest report has stated that it could be early May he is back in action, meaning there is a chance he is in action again before the end of the season.

Chelsea supporters have hardly seen any link-up at all between Nkunku and Cole Palmer, with the latter emerging in his absence as the clear star player at the club.

There is clearly an exciting prospect about seeing them feature alongside each other in attack sometime soon.
