Multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia are now said to be interested in signing an Arsenal player in what promises to be a very busy summer.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have made incredible progress with their squad building over the last few seasons, which is being rewarded on the pitch.

Before Manchester City play this evening, Arsenal have created a four-point buffer, hoping Brighton & Hove Albion can do them a huge favour.

Declan Rice, who Arsenal beat Man City to the signing of, has made a huge difference, as has Kai Havertz in recent months.

Arsenal’s transfer activity last summer was immaculate, with both the players who arrived and those who left the club.

Folarin Balogun’s departure was controversial, and yet you seldom hear any regrets among fans today.

That being said, this summer could potentially be even busier than last, with several players on the periphery of things, perhaps destined for pastures new.

Changes in midfield seem as if they’ll be most significant, and the future of Arsenal’s Thomas Partey will be a big factor in the club’s plans.

Arsenal have reportedly been trying to off-load Partey for some time owing to the amount of time the midfielder, who is ‘unbelievable’ on his day, has missed of late.

And according to a new report by The Standard, Arsenal may soon be in luck.

Arsenal could plan to overhaul their midfield this summer with Mohamed Elneny, Jorginho and the aforementioned Thomas Partey leaving.

Elneny is out of contract, as is Jorginho, and Partey now has interest from Saudi Arabia.

Of course, following Partey’s excellent display against Chelsea on Tuesday there may be the feeling among fans that the club should reconsider their position.

After all, a midifield three of the Ghanaian, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard looks incredibly strong.

But Arsenal have enough proof that Partey simply can’t be relied upon across a 38-game season owing to his injury issues.

Yes, Partey is an exceptional progressive passer in the middle, but Arsenal would be better off investing in a midfielder who is consistently available.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi is mentioned in the report above, and Arsenal could certainly do a lot worse.

That being said, Gabriel Agbonlahor has just claimed that there’s only one Arsenal player that Real Madrid would want to buy.
