Jeremie Frimpong says Manchester City have someone he’d take in a team over Bukayo Saka.

The Bayer Leverkusen right-back spent over three years in City’s youth ranks before leaving for Celtic in 2019.

Despite not making a senior appearances for the Citizens, the 23-year-old has now shared his thoughts on one of their current stars and where he stands among two of Europe’s other standout players.

In a recent video shared on Goal’s Front Three TikTok channel, Frimpong was asked to pick who he’d start, bench and sell out of Saka, Vinicius Junior and Phil Foden.

In response, the full-back chose to start Vinicius, bench Foden and sell Saka.

With 265 senior appearances for the Citizens under his belt, the 23-year-old has scored 81 goals and provided 51 assists, lifting five Premier League titles along the way.

The Gunners winger has made 223 first-team appearances for the north London club across all competitions, finding the back of the net 56 times and supplied 53 assists.

Phil Foden vs Bukayo Saka

This Premier League campaign has seen Foden feature in 31 games, 29 of which he’s started, whereas Saka has started all of the 32 league matches he’s appeared in.

Despite that, the midfielder has scored more goals than the Arsenal winger (16 vs 14), as well as having more shots at goal (93 vs 91) and a higher percentage of shots on target (43% vs 28.6%).

In addition to that, the 23-year-old also has a higher percentage for successful take-ons (44.7% vs 39.3%) than Saka.

With both players currently in the frame to see their sides potentially win the Premier League title, it’s clear that they have both played big roles in getting their respective teams to where they are with their goals.

Now that Frimpong has said that he would rather take Foden in a team over Saka, this suggests that maybe the defender sees the City star as being a more effective player overall.
