Arsenal have well and truly bounced back following their blip earlier this month with a resounding 5-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Gunners went into the game against the Blues hoping to make it two wins in a row after beating Wolves on the road at the weekend.

Arsenal ended the match in high spirits, having completely put Chelsea to the sword in a clinical display.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in the fourth minute, firing home from a tight angle after being put through by Declan Rice.

Ben White then doubled Arsenal’s lead on 52 minutes with an instinctive finish from close range after Rice’s shot ricocheted into his path.

The third arrived just five minutes later as Kai Havertz held off Marc Cucurella to fire into the roof of the net after being put through by Martin Odegaard.

Havertz then added a fourth in the 65th minute, collecting Bukayo Saka’s pass and slotting into the near corner after more slack Chelsea defending.

Then came the cherry on top as White got his second of the night with a first-time effort that appeared to be intended as a cross, but which sailed into the net.

All in all, a great night for Arsenal as all their players impressed, and during the match, Rio Ferdinand sung Trossard’s praises for his opening goal.

What did Rio Ferdinand say about Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard?

Ferdinand said on TNT Sports, as transcribed by BBC Sport: “Any team when you are going for the title you want to get a goal early and Arsenal did that. Trossard’s finish was wonderful.”

Trossard really has been a revelation for Arsenal. He cost the club a reported £27million, and he has certainly repaid that with his impressive goal tally.

The Belgium international is now on 10 Premier League goals for the season and 15 in all competitions. Not a bad tally especially considering he has started a relatively low 21 games this term.

Trossard will certainly fancy his chances of starting – and scoring – when it comes to this weekend’s north London derby away at Tottenham Hotspur.
