A report has shared how one Manchester United player has become known for turning up to training much earlier than most of his teammates, often arriving at Carrington two and a half hours before the rest of the squad are due to turn up.
It has definitely been a tough season for Manchester United. Erik ten Hag’s side will almost definitely not be playing Champions League football next year.
But there are some players who are giving the fans some reason for optimism.
Kobbie Mainoo has been exceptional in the middle of the park. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund have shown some positive signs over the course of the campaign.
But there has also been plenty said about another youngster in the last few weeks.
Willy Kambwala made his Premier League debut earlier this season. Kambwala impressed in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool earlier this month.
He had a much more difficult time against Bournemouth at the weekend, with Kambwala potentially at fault for both goals.
But what Manchester United fans will love is that the 19-year-old appears to be absolutely determined to give himself the best chance of being a success at Old Trafford.
As reported by The Athletic, Kambwala missed the best part of a year with an ankle injury earlier in his career. And following that experience, he will now arrive at training much earlier than everyone else most days to go through some injury prevention work.
In fact, the report notes that he can often arrive two and a half hours before the squad are meant to get there.
Obviously, fans will never know all of the lengths players go to to improve. But sometimes it would be helpful to get an idea of how hard they are truly working behind the scenes.
United fans were already willing to be patient with Kambwala. Ultimately, it is not an easy time for a young defender to come into this team which concedes so many chances.
Kambwala is clearly not the finished article. In an ideal world for United, he would not be getting so many minutes in the team.
But their struggles have presented opportunities to younger players. And supporters will love to hear that Kambwala does work so hard every day.
He is clearly determined to do absolutely everything he can to realise his full potential and make the most of the opportunity he has.
