Catch a round-up of the latest Crystal Palace news, including updates on Will Hughes and summer transfer business.
Will Hughes has claimed he misses two Crystal Palace stars who left the club in recent months. The Eagles squad has overseen some key changes, to continue competing in the Premier League and beyond.
However, that has seen some beloved characters leave, including Luka Milivojevic and James McArthur. Speaking about the departure of the duo, Hughes told the official club website: “You’re always going to miss players and characters like that.
“Macca and Luka were big voices around the changing room, so of course you are going to miss that to some extent, but we’ve still got experienced players that have come through – Schluppy, Wardy, Tonks – and so there is still guidance through that.”
Crystal Palace are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, which could see a transformation within the squad. A whole host of players have been linked with a switch to Selhurst Park, across multiple different positions.
However, the latest is a centre-forward option that may offer something new. That’s Basel striker Thierno Barry.
We are Palace spoke with HITC transfer expert Graeme Bailey, who said: “They’ve looked at him [Thierno Barry]. He’s a top, top prospect. He’s on their radar.”
Barry is 21 years old and stands tall at six foot and four inches, taller than current Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.
As players continue to be linked with a move to Crystal Palace, there will be a keen eye on how open they will be towards a switch. One target that appears to welcome a transfer is Danilho Doekhi, who recently discussed a move away from Union Berlin.
Speaking to SportBILD, he said: “I’m concentrating on the last games with the club. My full focus is on that. We’ll see what happens in the summer, but I’m focused on the here and now with Union.”
That may open the door towards a transfer in the summer window, though there are still a few months until that.
