Harry Kane has named a former Tottenham Hotspur player as the best finisher he has ever seen.

The Englishman has been receiving a lot of love from Spurs fans for helping Bayern Munich knock Arsenal out of the Champions League this week.

Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. His overall contribution to the team is fantastic, and his finishing is absolutely unbelievable as well.

The England captain has scored 39 goals and provided 12 assists in just 40 appearances this season. He is a dream striker for any manager to have in his team.

However, Kane has named another former Tottenham centre-forward as the best finisher he has ever seen in football.

Harry Kane makes a big claim about Jermain Defoe

Harry Kane is the name that springs to every Tottenham fan’s mind these days when you ask them about the best striker they’ve seen at the club.

The Bayern Munich star certainly deserves that recognition after everything he did for Spurs.

However, before Kane became the superstar he is today, Tottenham supporters saw Jermain Defoe doing the business for them at the top end of the pitch.

The Englishman scored 143 goals and provided 33 assists for Tottenham in over 340 games for the club before he was sold to Toronto FC for more than £8 million in 2014 (Guardian).

Kane and Defoe only played seven games for Tottenham together, but the former watched him train regularly and being a Spurs fan, he must have seen him in action on plenty of occasions as well.

In a video with TV2 Sport in Norway, Kane was asked to build his complete striker based on a few different categories that were put in front of him.

The Englishman named Son Heung-min as the best when it comes to running in behind, while Gary Lineker got the nod for being a fox in the box.

Peter Crouch was Kane’s pick for possessing the best aerial ability and Lionel Messi was his choice for having that X-factor in games.

The most important trait a striker needs to have is finishing, and when Kane was asked about the best at that, he quickly named Defoe.

What Jermain Defoe has said about becoming Tottenham’s manager

Tottenham have an incredible manager in Ange Postecoglou at the moment.

The Australian has completely transformed the club since he took charge last summer, and Spurs fans are convinced he is the man to bring trophies to the club.

At some point in the future, Postecoglou will move on, and quite a few former Tottenham stars are eyeing the Spurs job.

We’ve already told you what Sandro has said about that opportunity. Here’s Defoe making his dreams clear.

In an interview in April last year, the 41-year-old said: “Well, the dream would be Tottenham, you never know as a manager what opportunities you will get and that, but Tottenham.”

In February this year, Defoe made his feelings known again by saying: “It would be amazing to manage Tottenham. And the crazy thing about football is you never know. An opportunity could be around the corner.”
