Arsenal could already have their perfect Oleksandr Zinchenko replacement that could save the club millions.

Back in July 2022, Zinchenko left Manchester City to link up with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal for a reported fee of £32 million.

Since then, the Ukrainian has managed 65 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring twice.

Over the weekend, Zinchenko was criticised by many fans after Arsenal fell to a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

Throughout the 23/24 season, Zinchenko has found himself in and out of the Arsenal starting XI, with boss Arteta sometimes using Jakub Kiwior at left-back instead.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, it has been claimed that Arsenal may already have a ready-made replacement for Zinchenko that could save the club millions.

As reported by The Evening Standard, Arsenal see youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly as an option to replace Zinchenko.

The report stated: “A skilful midfielder who senior coaching staff at Arsenal think could become a left-back in the mould of Oleksandr Zinchenko. For now, he feels he is best at No6 or No8 and looks to learn from Declan Rice. His mum has a podcast to help parents in the industry.”

Speaking about Zinchenko prior to the match against Villa, Arteta said: “He’s very important. You have to ask the players to play in their strengths. I think Alex has got the personality to play in any game, under any condition, being himself. That’s a big thing to have.

“Yeah, he has some difficulties, especially with injuries, to find the rhythm and to find the consistency and now he’s back on it, he’s got a few games under his belt, he’s playing better and better and he’s a really, really important player for us.”

Arsenal will be back in Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.
