Man Utd legend David de Gea breaks silence and sends clear message about his club future with three-word post

Manchester United legend David de Gea has dropped his clearest message to fans about his future in club football after becoming a free agent in 2023.

David de Gea, who arrived at Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, made his exit from Old Trafford last summer after his contract came to an end.

The 33-year-old Spaniard, who won the Premier League Golden Glove award last season, had reportedly been keen to extend his stay at United.

The United legend had even reportedly agreed to take a pay cut on his salary and had even agreed to a contract extension at the Premier League club.

However, talks over a new deal later broke down and De Gea made his exit from Old Trafford after a glittering career at United.

Andre Onana arrived from Inter Milan last summer in a deal worth £47.2m and the 28-year-old Cameroonian succeeded De Gea between the sticks at United.

De Gea lifted a Premier League title, a Europa League, an FA Cup and two League Cups during his illustrious spell at the Red Devils.

Man Utd legend De Gea breaks silence

David de Gea has patiently been waiting on the sideline after leaving Manchester United, despite attracting fierce interest from clubs around the world.

The former United No 1 has previously caught the eye of clubs in his native homeland, as well as being linked with the Saudi Pro League.

However, De Gea has not signed for a new club since his departure from Old Trafford and his uncertainty in football has been shrouded in mystery.

The ex-Spain international, who made a whopping 545 appearances for United, has now made it clear where he stands on football going forward.

The United legend took to Instagram Stories and shared a photo with his followers of him in training, with De Gea including a message to fans as well.

De Gea added a sticker featuring an iconic line from The Terminator franchise, with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character famously proclaiming, “I’ll be back.”

De Gea’s next move post-Man Utd?

It remains unclear where De Gea will move next after his exit from the Premier League club, but the Spaniard still has a future in football.

Despite question marks being raised towards the end of his Old Trafford career, the former United star proved he is still more than capable of playing at a high level.

De Gea had been tipped with a sensational return to La Liga and the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper has been linked with Real Betis in recent days.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has downplayed the idea that the United legend will make his return to football at La Liga outfit Real Betis.

“A former Man United player, David de Gea, has been linked by some Spanish outlets with a possible move to Real Betis, but I honestly have zero updates about this – it’s still all quiet,” he said, as per CaughtOffside.

“De Gea remains open to consider options ahead of a summer move, but at the moment I’m not aware of anything agreed with Real Betis.”
