Thomas Muller fires Arsenal six-word warning as Bayern Munich star makes special visit

Thomas Muller will be looking to get on the scoresheet against Arsenal in the Champions League after finding the net for Bayern Munich against FC Köln at the weekend

Muller fires Bayern Munich teammates six-word message ahead of Arsenal clash

Thomas Muller has fired a six-word message ahead of Arsenal's trip to the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich will lock horns with the Gunners on Wednesday evening as either side hopes to progress into the Champions League semi-final.

Mikel Arteta's side salvaged a 2-2 draw against the German giants at the Emirates Stadium last week thanks to Leandro Trossard, who found an equaliser in the final quarter of an hour. Bayern Munich head into the tie following a 2-0 win over FC Köln, though they were dealt a major injury blow in the second half.

Shortly after the break, Kingsley Coman had to be replaced by Jamal Musiala after picking up a knock. Speaking to Sky Sports Germany after the game, Thomas Tuchel issued an update on the France international.

"The big downside to the whole game is the injury to Kingsley Coman," said the former Chelsea manager. "It makes me very sad because I know how hard he worked and how important he is for us. First Serge Gnabry is out, then he and Leroy Sane are doubts [for Wednesday]."

As for Arsenal, they'll be desperate to return to winning ways after a disappointing defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. After conceding first place to Manchester City in the Premier League title race, Muller is looking to pile on the misery in north London.

Taking to Instagram ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second leg, the 34-year-old talisman visited the Gerd Müller statue outside the Allianz Arena. He wrote: "Before the @championsleague game against @arsenal London I visited the statue of @fcbayern legend Gerd Müller at the @allianzarena.

"The nation's bomber was the greatest FCB has ever had [football emoji and arm flexing emoji]." In a final six words, Muller added: "Let's go you Reds. [red and white circle emojis] Wednesday counts!"

Speaking on his YouTube channel, FIVE, Rio Ferdinand believes the tie is in his Bayern's hands. The former Manchester United defender said: "I think it's advantage Bayern Munich. Bayern are at home and have all that experience in Europe.

"Arsenal could win but it's advantage Bayern for me. Can you imagine if Harry Kane knocks them out of Europe? The biggest game of Arsenal's season is on Wednesday night. If they lose that game, this team will never have been that low under Mikel Arteta.

"To have a week like this, where you were in control, to then lose control in the league and then you’re out of the Champions League…I would worry for Arsenal at that point."
