Unhappy at Spurs? Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg offered to AC Milan amidst playing time concerns

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been offered to Italian giants AC Milan, per Calciomercato.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane owing to increasing frustrations with a lack of playing time under his belt under Ange Postecoglou.

He has accumulated 34 appearances under the Australian gaffer in all competitions, though those have only aggregated to about twelve hundred minutes of playing time. That aggregates to just about 35 minutes per appearance.

The 28-year-old signed for Tottenham in 2020 in a £15 million move from Southampton when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club. Although his time at the club could be coming to a conclusion.

He has publicly admitted to growing frustrated with the lack of playing time off late at Tottenham, and by the looks of it, his future lies away from North London, maybe in Milan. AC Milan have been offered the Dane midfielder as the Milan Reds look externally to solve their midfield problems.

Stefano Pioli’s side has relied on signing fringe players from the Premier League and trying to bring their barely-seen qualities to San Siro. It is an approach that has worked quite well for them. To name a few, Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all enjoyed successful times at Milan after moving from the Premier League, as Hojbjerg may follow.

Although there is a belief that the Italian giants have some doubts as regards the deal to bring the 28-year-old to San Siro, he is considered an ‘alternative’ to Milan’s first-choice target, Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana. Sofyan Amrabat is another midfielder that they are looking at as an alternative to Fonana alongside Hojbjerg.

It is to be seen whether Milan would sign the former Bayern Munich midfielder. That being said, irrespective of where these links go, Hojbjerg’s future beyond the summer lies away from Tottenham Hotspur.
