Imminent new Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed there are four teams in world football he loves watching but his next employers did not got a mention.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal in principle for the Dutchman to become their new manager, taking over from Jurgen Klopp when he departs at the end of the season.

The likes of Ruben Amorim, Roberto De Zerbi and Xabi Alonso were all touted as candidates but Feyenoord boss Slot is poised to be in charge at Anfield next term.

Sky Sports News say the Reds will pay an initial £7.7 million in compensation, with a further £1.7 million in performance-related add-ons.

Slot has made no secret of wanting to make move, stating, "It is clear I would like to go to Liverpool".

Liverpool's top brass have concluded that the Slot, who has won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup with Feyenoord, is a perfect fit for the position.

But interestingly, the 45-year-old did not name Liverpool when discussing the teams he enjoys watching the most.

Slot claimed that watching Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is "the ultimate joy in football", while also praising the style of two other Premier League sides in Arsenal and Brighton, as well as Serie A's Napoli.

He told Voetbal International: "There is no team in the world I would rather watch than Manchester City, followed by Napoli, Arsenal and Brighton.

"But City - and again it is not my intention to compare us with them - have a similar style of play to how we want to play with Feyenoord: 4-3-3, building up from the back, wanting to apply pressure quickly."

Slot is known for his attractive brand of football and focus on developing young players and his appointment has the seal of approval from Klopp.

“I’m not involved, club-wise," the German said in a press conference.

"I would like a lot that if Arne is the one he wants to take the job. I like his team's style, all I hear about him as a guy — good coach”.

“I’d tell him this is the best job in the world. Best club in the world, best people," Klopp.
