Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp were both involved in a touchline row during the draw at West Ham - and Ally McCoist has delivered his opinion on the situation

Ally McCoist has slammed Mohamed Salah for not expressing his anger at Jurgen Klopp inside the changing room and instead on the touchline during Liverpool's 2-2 draw at West Ham.

Klopp cut a frustrated figure on the touchline throughout the game as the Reds suffered a gigantic dent in their hopes of winning the Premier League. And tempers flared when Salah and Klopp exchanged views.

Salah had to be held back by team-mate Darwin Nunez as he angrily gestured in front of his manager. Klopp refused to add more about the incident but admitted they had spoken about it, while Salah issued a fiery warning and admitted: "If I speak, there will be fire."

And after the match, former Rangers forward McCoist weighed in with his opinion on the situation - and criticised Salah for his handling of the incident. He told TNT Sports: "[It was] Not good at all, especially when you see Salah coming back to have another bite and then one of his team-mates has to come and intervene.

"We've both been in dressing rooms where it happens. You don't agree with what the manager has said and then there's cross words but it does not look good. That sort of stuff should be for behind closed doors."

Salah has struggled for form recently and could leave the Reds this summer. The 31-year-old, who has scored one goal in his last six Premier League appearances, has just over a year left on his contract.

Speaking on Salah, McCoist said: "Yeah, [I think he'll be leaving]. He has been one of the best players we have seen in this league, nothing short of fantastic for Liverpool. But his form has dipped, I don't think anyone can argue with that and it just looks to me as if he might be moving.

"It might be one of those situations where it suits both parties. It might suit Mo Salah to move on and it might suit Liverpool to reinvest the money they get from him."

Liverpool remain third in the Premier League table but sit one point behind second-place Manchester City and two adrift of leaders Arsenal. City boast two games in hand while the Gunners have also played a game fewer.

When asked about the title race, Klopp told his press conference:" I don't think about it really. So, I said before, we need to win our games. We didn't win the game. That doesn't improve our situation now massively. Do they [Manchester City and Arsenal] look like they will lose two or three games?

"No, I don't think so but, honestly, I'm not angry or whatever... I don't think about it. It's just we have to win football games and let's see what that means in the end. What do we have now? 75 points? 84 [are] possible and I think it is a good target to try to do that."
