We have reached the business end of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.
Eight teams entered the draw for the quarterfinal stage back in March, and the second legs of those ties take place across April 17-18 (AEST).
Each of the matchups is finely poised: Barcelona and Atletico Madrid each took a one-goal lead into their return games against Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, respectively, but both La Liga giants were eliminated after engrossing second-leg matches. PSG beat Barca 4-1 in Catalonia to progress, while Dortmund won 4-2 at home to progress 5-4 on aggregate.
There is more drama still to come. Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal and Manchester City vs. Real Madrid will also kick off this week with the aggregate scores level.

Whatever happens in the second legs, we will see the competition whittled down to just four teams this week. The semifinals will then take place in late April and early May to decide which two sides will contest the Champions League final at the 'Home of Football' at the beginning of June.
Due to the nature of the competition, the eight quarterfinalists already knew who their possible semifinal opponents could be before they even kicked a ball.

There is no separate draw for the UEFA Champions League semifinals for 2023/24. That's because the bracket was already mapped out at the quarterfinal draw back in March 2024.
When those four ties were decided, there was a subsequent draw to determine which teams would then face off at the semifinal stage.
This is how the bracket looks for the semifinals of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Paris Saint-Germain |
Arsenal/Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid/Manchester City |
The ties are scheduled to take place over two legs at the end of April and in the early part of May this year.
The first legs of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League semifinals will take place over May 1 and May 2, 2024 (AEST). The second legs will be held a week later on May 8 and May 9 (AEST).
The 2024 UEFA Champions League final will take place on Saturday, June 1 at Wembley Stadium, London, UK.
The match has been confirmed as an 8 p.m. BST kickoff in the UK, 3 p.m. ET in the USA and Canada, and 5 a.m. AEST in Australia on Sunday, June 2.
