Chelsea legend John Terry has given his sign of approval to Cole Palmer after the 21-year-old scored four times in the Blues' 6-0 thrashing of Everton on Monday.

Palmer netted three times in 16 first-half minutes to set them on their way to their biggest win under Mauricio Pochettino. His first came courtesy of brilliant skill to jinx past Jarred Branthwaite before curling into the bottom corner.

Five minutes later, Palmer followed up Jordan Pickford's save to head past the goalkeeper before completing his second straight home hat-trick after Pickford's poor pass left the goal open.

Palmer bagged his 20th Premier League goal from the penalty spot in the second half, albeit with some controversy with his teammates, to make it 10 goals in his last five games.

"It all happened so fast in the first 30 minutes," he said after the game. "We started well and to score another hat-trick, I'm buzzing. But I think the team needed that after Sunday [Sheffield United] and some previous games. We did well tonight."

After the Monday night spectacle, Palmer took to Instagram to celebrate his hat-trick. Alongside four pictures of the night, he wrote: "Perfect night. X4."

Many have congratulated the 21-year-old for his display with several teammates heaping praise on him. Raheem Sterling, who missed the game due to illness, replied: "Class," while Alfie Gilchrist commented two fire emojis.

Club captain Reece James labelled the winger a "serious playa" and Malo Gusto joked that Palmer "was boring". Angelo Gabriel, currently out on loan at Strasbourg, added: "Crack *freezing cold face emoji*," and Thiago Silva put four first emojis.

Among all the praise from his teammates, Palmer was also greeted with a congratulations from Terry. The ex-defender commented a blue love heart, clapping hands emoji and four football emojis.
