Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial - Manchester United injury news and return dates

The latest Manchester United injury news and return dates ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United

Erik ten Hag is having to deal with Man United injury worries

Manchester United will be sweating on the fitness of a number of players ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay were both substituted in Sunday's penalty shootout FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City at Wembley, with the England international later limping through the mixed zone.

The duo joined part of United's ever-growing injury list that includes both Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat - who both missed Sunday's victory, as well as Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez and Raphel Varane.

On Wednesday, Erik Ten Hag's side host the relegation-threatened Blades at Old Trafford as they look to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

Here, MEN Sport looks at United's latest injury news ahead of the upcoming Premier League fixture.

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford is one of the latest players to be added to the United injury list after the win over Coventry City.

The England international was substituted in second-half injury time and was replaced by Amad Diallo at Wembley. Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Ten Hag revealed that Rashford is a "doubt" to be involved against Sheffield United on Thursday.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay emerged as a fitness concern for United after the win over Coventry.

McTominay made his return from a knee injury to start at Wembley but was substituted in extra time with what appeared to be a muscle injury. Like Rashford, McTominay is a "doubt" to feature against Sheffield United.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Willy Kambwala

Young defender Willy Kambwala was one of several United players who did not travel to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

The centre-back was not part of the matchday squad and it remains to be seen when he will make his return for United.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Sofyan Amrabat

Sofyan Amrabat missed United's win over Coventry City with a potential fitness issue. It remains to be seen whether he will feature at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Mason Mount

Mason Mount missed United's win over Coventry City, a month after making his return from a calf injury.

No update has emerged on the potential severity of any fitness issue which forced Mount to miss the game against the Sky Blues.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Jonny Evans

Jonny Evans has been sidelined with a muscle injury since being substituted in the second half of the defeat to Chelsea on April 4.

There were hopes that Evans could make his return against Coventry City last weekend but he was not part of the matchday squad.

Potential return date: April 24 vs Sheffield United.

Raphael Varane

Raphael Varane has been recovering from a muscle injury since he was substituted at half-time of the defeat to Chelsea earlier this month.

Varane was not part of the matchday squad against Coventry and it remains uncertain when the centre-back will make his return. United will hope that Varane makes his return in the near future.

Potential return date: May.

Lisandro Martinez

Lisandro Martinez is recovering from a muscle injury he suffered in a cameo appearance against Brentford last month.

United confirmed that they expected Martinez to be sidelined for around a month while in recovery. As a result, Martinez could make his return in early May for United's run-in and the FA Cup final against City.

Potential return date: May.

Victor Lindelof

Victor Lindelof also suffered a muscle injury in the draw with Brentford last month and has been in recovery ever since.

United announced that Lindelof is also expected to be sidelined for around a month with the injury. The Reds will hope to have Lindelof back in the matchday squad either at the end of the month or in early April.

Potential return date: May.

Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw has been recovering from an injury he sustained against Luton Town back in February.

Ten Hag has previously explained how he hopes to welcome Shaw back from injury before the end of the season. No exact timeframe has been given for when United will hope to have the left-back return to the starting line-up, though.

Potential return date: May.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has been in recovery after undergoing surgery on a groin injury back in January.

It was initially expected that Martial would be sidelined for around ten weeks while he recovered from the injury. However, it remains to be seen when the forward will make his return to the United matchday squad

Speaking earlier this month, Ten Hag said: "I don't know [if he will play again before his contract expires]. He's still with the medical [department]. He's out on the pitch, but if he will be available, I don't know."

Potential return date: Post-season

Tyrell Malacia

Tyrell Malacia has been recovering from a knee injury since last year, which has forced him to miss the entirety of the season so far.

Malacia has gradually been building up his fitness in recent months but there is no sign of whether or not the left-back will make a return to the matchday squad anytime soon. It's not certain if Malacia will feature for United before the end of the campaign.

Potential return date: Unknown.
