Ex- Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea has been spotted training back in Manchester as he looks to find himself a new club.

De Gea, 33, has been without a team since he left the Red Devils last summer. And in an attempt to woo potential suitors, the Spaniard shared a clip of him doing training drills at Altrincham FC.

In a short clip that went viral on social media, De Gea can be seen going through the motions at the J Davidson Stadium in an individual training session. "Can’t believe he’s still a free agent since last summer," one fan replied.

"He still got it.. way better than Onana that’s for sure," a second said, taking a dig at the Red Devils' new keeper. While a third responded: "He hasn’t had ‘it’ in eight years big man..."

"It’s actually hilarious that not one club has gone near him and United fans wanted to keep him," a fourth joked. And another added: "I can't believe the David De Gea went a full season without getting a club to play for..."

The Spain international has remained in Manchester since last summer and has even been spotted watching the women's side as well as joining former teammates for meals out.

His predecessor Edwin van der Sar recently offered the keeper his support. The Dutchman recalled how he had been in a similar scenario after leaving Juventus in 2001. Van der Sar said, under the clip: “David, keep the faith and believe as I had something similar in 2001 and look what that brought me in the end!”

De Gea has attracted interest from his homeland - with Real Betis emerging as his most likely destination - but no deal has been reached between the sides, with reports suggesting his massive wage demands had been the stumbling block.
