Sky Sports were forced to correct an error during their Monday Night Football coverage ahead of Chelsea vs Everton.

On Monday night, Mauricio Pochettino’s men produced a scintillating performance as four goals from Cole Palmer plus strikes by Nicolas Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist sealed a 6-0 win over Everton.

Prior to kick-off, presenter Dave Jones and pundit Jamie Carragher were joined by special guest Dele Alli as they looked at this season’s race for the top four.

With the race hotting up between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports showed a graphic of both team’s remaining fixtures.

The graphic also showed a percentage possibility of each team finishing in the last guaranteed Champions League spot, Unai Emery’s men were given a 72 per cent chance whilst Spurs' was only 27 per cent.

However, an error was spotted on the graphic relating to the percentage as it was shown as ‘Title %’ instead of ‘Top Four %’. The error was quickly removed.

Villa gave themselves a big boost in the race to finish fourth after their 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking after the match, manager Emery said: “I’m very proud of our work, the players and the supporters. They were here with us, pushing us, supporting us, trying to play with us. Matches like today, when we play at this level to get these performances, we feel we can keep increasing our level to get those positions in the top seven teams.

“These three points are the same like we played for last week against Brentford and we will play for against Bournemouth next week, but to get here three points is giving us confidence and power to prepare the next matches being motivated and excited to get our objective in Europe and the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, Spurs had a weekend to forget as they fell to a dismal 4-0 defeat against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Currently, Villa are three points ahead of Spurs, but Ange Postecoglou’s men have a game in hand.
