Dele Alli has revealed he hopes Tottenham qualify for the Champions League this season.

The 28-year-old left Spurs in January 2022 after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte, with the Englishman joining Everton to work under then Toffees manager Frank Lampard. It's fair to say things have not worked out on Merseyside for Dele, however, with the former MK Dons man plagued by injuries.

Still, it's clear Tottenham remains very close to his heart. During his appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, Dele was asked his thoughts on Tottenham under manager Ange Postecoglou and whether he thinks the Lilywhites can finish in the top four.

"Yeah, I hope so," he said ahead of Chelsea vs Everton at Stamford Bridge. "It’s a tough run of games but for me it’s been great.

"I don’t know how the Tottenham fans will see the season if they don’t finish in the top four, but for me watching, obviously having played for Tottenham and having a connection to the club, watching them play football and football I like to see Tottenham play, that for me is good but I know the club won’t be happy with the top four."

Jamie Carragher added: "I think what is really interesting with this, what happens in midweek in Europe is going to have a huge bearing on this as well and will the English clubs will they get through, certainly against German opposition when you look at Arsenal against Bayern Munich. That could be a big problem in terms of whether we get four places or five in the Champions League."

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points off Aston Villa who occupy fourth place. Spurs, however, do have a game in hand on Unai Emery's men.
