Liverpool fans 'can't work out' what Alisson is doing as Spurs score silky goal
Spurs took the lead against Liverpool towards the end of the first half but fans were left baffled by Alisson's antics, which saw him give Son Heung-min an easy tap-in
Fans have been left baffled by Alisson after the Liverpool keeper was caught in no man's land to gift Tottenham their opening goal.
Son Heung-min was on hand to tap in after Richarlison found space round the back - but it was the space that Son had that caught the fans' eyes.
The Brazilian goalkeeper appeared to find himself in two minds and initially decided to run out to his international team-mate Richarlison. But in doing so, he allowed Son to drift into the box and tap Spurs into the lead.
The goal was somewhat against the run of play, despite Liverpool playing with 10-men following the sending off of Curtis Jones. Just minutes earlier, Luis Diaz had a strike ruled out for a tight offside.
On Alisson's positioning, one fan wrote on social media: "Where was Alisson off too for that spurs goal? Just abandons his goal completely." Another added: "Alisson gets so much praise for his positioning but that's three times this season where he's had defenders ready to do their job, and decided to just hand the opposition a goal anyways."
A third fan said: "Dunno where Alisson was going." A fourth added: "Poor positioning from Alisson."
The goal came shortly after Liverpool were reduced to 10 men following a VAR review on a Curtis Jones tackle.
Jones could perhaps consider himself unlucky as his foot came off the top of the ball and into the leg of Yves Bissouma. But after a video review, it was deemed to be worthy of a dismissal.
The blushes of Alisson and Jones were somewhat saved at the end of the first-half, when Cody Gakpo fired home to level the game.
