BREAKING NEWS: Man United star Antony's ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin breaks her silence as Brazilian returns to training despite allegation of assault
Antony returned to Manchester this week after being in Brazil since the start of September - where he joined up with the national team only to be withdrawn from the squad when the allegations surfaced.
The Brazilian winger was granted a leave of absence by the Premier League club earlier this month to fight allegations made by ex-girlfriend Cavallin and two other women but returned to training this week.
And now his accuser and ex-girlfriend Cavallin has broken her silence since his return.
A press release read: 'Gabrela Cavallin's attorneys inform that the crimes committed by the player are still being investigated by the Manchester Police and also the Brazilian Plice, which is why we believe that he will soon be sent to Court, where he will have to face a trial.
'It seems obvious to us that fallacies would be created with the intention that the team bringing him back to training.'
Antony gave a tearful television interview during his time in Brazil as he denied the allegations against him.
'I know the truth and it will come out,' he said.
'I’m 100 per cent sure I never touched a woman and I’ll come up with the evidence. I’m sure I’ve never committed physical violence.'
Furthermore, Antony issued a statement in the wake of the allegations earlier in September, which read: ‘I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.
‘This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club.
‘I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth.
'I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.’
He has now returned to training but was not in the United squad for their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
