He is out in the heat of Saudi Arabia currently - but Jota's exit from the Middle-East could hinge on whether Ange Postecoglou's cold feet thaw out.

The pair worked together at Celtic with the Spurs gaffer bringing him to Glasgow on loan from Benfica in 2021 before signing him permanently last year. Both departed Glasgow in the summer, with one heading for North London where he has impressed in the early stages of his reign, despite three straight losses. Jota meanwhile accepted a money-spinning offer in the Saudi Pro League with Al Ittihad but it hasn't worked out.

Already, he looks poised to leave in January after falling out of favour and not even being registered for games in the SPL, despite signing for £25m. The Sun claim that Postecoglou could offer the man he worked with at Celtic a route to Spurs amid their own winger problems...but it's not a done deal.

It's suggested that "Postecoglou is believed to have not yet made his mind up over whether his former charge would suit England’s top flight." The winger would head to the Premier League with little competitive action under his belt this term.

If one man knows what Jota is all about, it's Postecoglou. He scored 28 times with 26 assists in 83 matches as he made himself one of the main men in the Aussie's two-year stint.
