Former Liverpool player John Aldridge has tipped Caoimhin Kelleher to start every game for the Reds in the UEFA Europa League, starting this week against LASK.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the pundit claimed that the 24-year-old could be in contention to replace Alisson Becker in the starting XI, with Jurgen Klopp likely to rotate with Premier League games in mind.

Aldridge said when asked about his ideal XI for the Europa League: “I think he’s got to use a mix of youth and experience. You’d imagine Kelleher would start in goal for all of them.”

As reported by the Atheltic, Kelleher was keen to leave Liverpool this summer for a chance to become a no. 1 at another top Premier League club.

However, the Republic of Ireland international failed to win a move, with Kelleher now back to being Alisson’s backup at Liverpool, though chances could be plenty this season.
