Spurs legend Graham Roberts has just made a huge claim about one of the North London club’s stars by comparing him to Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur crashed to a 3-2 defeat against the Turkish giants in a match where they were the architects of their own downfall.

Ange Postecoglou’s side knew they were in for a tricky evening in Istanbul, however, the atmosphere in Rams Park clearly got the better of them as they looked a total nervous wreck.

For one of the Lilywhites’ stars, it was a mixed evening of emotions and after his game ended on a sour note, Roberts sent him a message of encouragement.

Graham Roberts compares Will Lankshear to Harry Kane

Will Lankshear’s evening went from 100 to zero real quick against Galatasaray as the striker netted his first senior goal before later being shown a red card.

After the defeat, Tottenham legend Graham Roberts sent Lankshear a clear message after his performance on a mixed night for the academy star.

The former Spurs captain told the young forward to keep his head up having scored in such a hostile atmosphere.

He also compared Lankshear to a young Harry Kane and claims he is ahead of Spurs’ all-time leading goal scorer at his age. The 19-year-old also became the club’s youngest goal scorer in Europe since Kane back in 2011.

Lankshear will still have had a night to remember, as in a hostile environment like Rams Park he still managed to show he could mix it with one of the competition’s best teams.

Ben Davies reveals Lankshear’s reaction to red card

Ben Davies has revealed that Lankshear was “gutted” after the game but believes he will learn from his performance against Galatasaray. The Welshman also claims that he and his teammates will support the teenager through this difficult moment.

Davies told SpursOfficial: “Unfortunately for Will [Lankshear], these things happen, but he will learn from that; he’s devastated in there but it’s up to us to help him through it now. It was a valiant fight in the end, but not quite enough.”
