According to reports, Chelsea transfer target striker Victor Osimhen is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer.
The Napoli striker has generated interest from several clubs, but it had been reported that Paris Saint-Germain was leading the race for the 25-year-old.
However, Italian Football Journalist Rudy Galetti confirmed on X that Osimhen wants a move to the English top flight. He said: “Osimhen is always eager to join the Premier League.
“Chelsea still consider him the main target.”
The Blues have been pursuing the Nigerian striker since the start of the summer with Enzo Maresca’s side in a good position to sign him. Antonio Conte’s Napoli are keen on signing Chelsea striker Lukaku so there is the possibility of a swap deal between the two teams.
Osimhen is one of the best strikers currently in world football scoring 48 goals in the past two seasons for Napoli.
He has a release clause of £110 million in his contract, but if the Blues could get him via a swap deal for Lukaku, they could make a significant saving.
Chelsea has competition from Arsenal for Osimhen’s signature as the Gunners are also looking to add more firepower up top. Mikel Arteta’s side are keen on both Osimhen and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are linked with Osimhen too. The Red Devils were heavily linked with him last summer which seemed to have quietened.
The Blues have not only been linked with Victor Osimhen, but they are keen on several other striker options too.
Names include Hoffenheim striker Maximillian Beier, Federico Chiesa, and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.
