Lauryn Goodman, the mistress of Manchester City star Kyle Walker, will reportedly be blocked from acquiring Euro 2024 tickets down official channels.
WHAT HAPPENED?
City defender Walker has fathered two children with model and influencer Goodman outside of his marriage to partner Annie Kilner. He is trying to build bridges in that relationship and is eager to avoid any distractions at this summer’s European Championship – with the 33-year-old expected to form part of Gareth Southgate’s plans.
THE GOSSIP
The Football Association are also keen to ensure that attention inside the camp is not diverted by goings on off the pitch. With that in mind, the Daily Mail claims that efforts will be made to ensure that Goodman is not able to attend games – despite the 33-year-old reportedly vowing to get tickets that will allow four-year-old son Kairo to watch his father in action.
WHAT SOURCE SAID
A source is said to have told the Mail: “Lauryn has been saying she will be at the games this summer because Kyle promised their son tickets, but that sets off massive alarm bells for the squad's team behind the scenes. There are special seating areas at each of the matches which are allocated to players and staff for their families and friends, and quite often those tickets get passed on and shared around between those close to the team – and there's no doubt Kyle's wife Annie will be there with their kids. But Lauryn has been saying she will get hold of some tickets and go along too which would cause massive problems. There's no way any will be issued directly to her the way things are currently, but she could try to get them by another means or through friends within the game – she knows a lot of players and football agents. The manager and the team need total focus on the games. Any distraction will be totally clamped down on. Everything in their power, they will do it. Nobody wants a circus ruining their chances.”
DID YOU KNOW?
Goodman is said to have told friends that Walker wants her in Germany this summer as he is keen for “Kairo to see me play”, but those claims have been contradicted by the Mail’s source – who says no such invitation has been extended.
WHAT NEXT?
Kilner, who recently gave birth to the couple’s fourth child, is expected to be in attendance at Euro 2024 – with England, who sit towards the top of pre-tournament betting markets, set to open their quest for continental glory with a game against Serbia on June 16.
