Arsenal now focussing on signing ‘incredible’ £55m forward instead of Alexander Isak

Arsenal’s plans for the summer don’t seem to be dependant on if they win the league or not and a new striker seems a certainty.

Despite Kai Havertz impressing in the role this season, there is a belief around Arsenal that a new number nine will be targeted in the summer window.

Gabriel Jesus’ future has been called into question, albeit Mikel Arteta denied that talk this weekend.

However, with Jesus struggling for goals and general fitness at times this season, there is a need for Arsenal to assess the striking options they have.

Of course, we know Arsenal like Newcastle striker, Alexander Isak. The Swede scored again yesterday to take his tally to 20 Premier League goals for the season.

But according to Football Transfers, a deal to sign Isak would be more than difficult and with that in mind, Arsenal have apparently switched their attention to another.

That man, is Benjamin Sesko.

Arsenal focus on Benjamin Sesko after Alexander Isak blow

According to the report from FT, Sesko’s agent has been at The Emirates recently ahead of a busy summer for him and his client.

The Gunners know that Sesko has a smaller release clause than some of their other targets, while Newcastle will demand north of £100m for Isak.

Previous reports have suggested Sesko can leave for around £55m but things could be even cheaper than that, with other outlets regularly reporting on a £43m clause in his current contract.

Sesko has scored 15 goals this season and been one of the more impressive stars for RB Leipzig.

Still only 20 as well, Sesko has bags of room for improvement in his game and Mikel Arteta will see that as a big plus in terms of being able to really shape his development.

Arsenal will spend money this summer, it’s just a matter of who on.

But in the ‘incredible‘ Sesko, they’d be getting another exciting young forward to help what is already a goal-laden attacking set up at The Emirates.
