Bafana Bafana legend Pollen Ndlanya has revealed his disappointment after Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng's display in the Caf Champions League match against Al Ahly.
The Sea Robbers played to a goalless draw against the 12-time African champions at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, and the young player did not impress as anticipated.
Ndlanya, who played for Goztepe and Bursaspor in Turkey, was not happy with how his former club, Pirates' performance.
WHAT WAS SAID
"I'm a little bit disappointed with Orlando Pirates. I think they got stage fright. I was expecting some individual brilliance from the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng," Ndlanya said on Radio 2000.
"They should have taken the game to Al Ahly. Supporters came in numbers and were expecting a lot."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Despite his recent underwhelming performance, Mofokeng has been performing well, particularly in the Premier Soccer League matches for Jose Riveiro's team.
The Sharpeville-born player's ability has also caught the attention of European clubs, including Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona.
Mofokeng, who is also part of the Bafana Bafana squad led by Hugo Broos, may find himself departing the Soweto giants soon if he does sign for Barca.

Mofokeng will aim to improve his recent disappointing performance when Pirates face Ivorian outfit Stade d'Abidjan this Saturday.
The Buccaneers are currently second in the Caf Champions League Group B standings, tied on four points with leaders Al Ahly after two matches.
