Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that Kai Havertz is one of the main players for his side at the moment following their thrilling win over PSG on October 1, Tuesday. Havertz found himself on the scoresheet in the first half as he continued his run of form this season. The goal against PSG was the fifth one of his campaign and he picked up the Player Of The Match award for his performance as well.

Havertz was often criticised in the past for his performances, but the German is finally finding his feet at Arsenal with Arteta in awe of his performances. Speaking to the reporters after the PSG win, as quoted by Reuters, Arteta said Havertz has been unbelievable and hailed his work ethic as well.

"He has been unbelievable. His football brain, the way he understands space, his timing, he brings people together," said Havertz.

"His work ethic is incredible and now he is a real threat around the box. He is one of our main players at the moment."

Really, really happy with PSG win

The win got Arsenal their first win of the campaign in the UEFA Champions League and Arteta was thrilled with the performance. The Gunners dominated PSG in the first half and were able to hold them off in the second one to get the win.

"Really, really happy with the performance. We played an opponent that has a lot of personality, is really difficult to deal with when you don't have the ball," said Arteta.

"The first half was very dominant and we created a lot of chances and then the second half was a different story."

"We suffered much more than we should have done. The Champions League brings different demands but I think we handled it really well."

The win propelled Arsenal into the 8th spot in the points table but Arteta isn't looking too far ahead.

"I'm not even looking at the table," he said. "But I think it will be a long journey."

Arsenal will next be in action in the Premier League when they take on Southampton at the Emirates stadium.
